John originally comes from the San Francisco area where he grew up helping his parents with their booths at antique shows around the city. It was there that he first developed his interest in gemology and jewelry. At 8, he bought his first piece, a small Virgin Mary charm. At 13, he began buying and selling jewelry. At 21, he graduated the Gemological Institute of America's (GIA) diamond program. In 2011 at 22, he opened his first jewelry store. After two great years in business, John decided to move to Austin for the economy and great people. John is passionate about colored gemstones and owns a vast collection of precious and semiprecious stones. John is also an expert in gold and silver hallmarks trained by his uncle, William Whetstone of the Hallmark Research Institute.
Caroline is an Austin native and graduate of the University of Texas. Since studying costume design in school, she now specializes in jewelry history. Her favorite periods are Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
We are very passionate about our business and love sharing that with our customers. The estate jewelry sector is small and often misunderstood within the jewelry industry. Frequently we see items sold with incorrect information whether it be incorrect period identification or stone identification. Thus, we put substantial effort into making sure that everything we sell is correctly and accurately identified. We wish to build lasting relationships with our customers so you can always expect honesty and excellent service from us.
